As the dawn breaks into another glorious day I approach the new day with anticipating of all that I have planned and also the unplanned things that God has for me. The most enjoyable time of day, for me, is those few fleeting hours in the early morning that I sit at my desk and ready my Bible with coffee in hand. Yes, this is the day that the Lord hath made and I will try to do my best to rejoice in it as the Psalmist did. But far too often the reality of life hits and the often sadness that goes along with it. A very good friend of mine went home to be with the Lord this past week at a very young age. Not only does this sadden me for the loss of her life but it also brings a reality of how dear and precious each day of life really is. We never know, with the breaking of each new day, if it will be our last. The only hope that we can have that will allow us to truly rejoice in each new day is the hope of knowing Jesus, the Christ, as our Saviour. Each new day that dawns brings us one day close to eternity, and as a believer in Jesus no matter what happens today I can rejoice knowing that this life is not all there is but simply a small step toward my glorious hope of spending an eternity with God. 1Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
